Mixes

I record them sometimes. Take a listen!

BASSment Jams S01E10

This was recorded for Necomancer's BASSment Jams series. This set was inspired by my time in Amsterdam and Berlin in summer of 2025. I wanted to mix modern and old-school, ghetto techno. Berlin bass with Chicago jack. This recording was also right after my set at The Great Beyond. Since that wasn't recorded, I made this mix a more refined version of that one.

Cracki Station

Recorded in Paris in summer of 2025. Shoutout to Delusion! I DJ'd at Fete de le Musique a few days before this. That set wasn't recorded, so this mix is a more refined version of that one. Heavy rhythmic techno.

"echo's final mix" - Carbon Sound

I built Carbon Sound and ran it for three years. For my last mix for our series, I tried to leave it all on the court. 5 hours, 120+ songs. It felt really good to sit down after this recording.

AMEN

Recording of my set for AMEN at Gateway Twin Cities in May of 2025. It felt great to return to Jungle/Footwork/Club mixing after doing more techno sets and to apply what I learned through all the practice to this sound.

Surfing on Sine Waves

Recorded just for fun in one take. I found a bunch of great stuff from Decoder and Ruben Ganev and put it all together. This set ended up being the basis of my opening set for Zack Fox in April 2025. "Translate Rhythms" is a weapon.

Music is Math

Recorded for 95.9 CKUW in Winnipeg, CA in March 2025. Pretty sure this was my first released three-deck mix. A lot of what I did here was based on my set at UNBOTHERED's PARABLE rave in February 2025.

"Disco's Revenge" - Carbon Sound Mix

November 2024. I decided to try to lock in and make a good house/disco set after fucking up a set where I played that a few months before. I wanted to lock in, get better, and prove to myself that I can play it. Dug for a ton of tracks and put them together. I can usually record in one take, but this took a few tries. The whole learning process of the set makes me look back on it as a turning point for me as a DJ.

Barokoko

April 2023. I was trying to define my sound at the time. Still getting into DJing electronic music after being open format. I like maximalism. This was a time in my life when I started to become more indulgent. I love baroque art (visually and musically) and learned about the next step of it, rococo. Barokoko. This mix was like a thesis statement for what my sound was. I still carry some of that ethos, but I can appreciate the power of restraint more now.

vol 1. nexus

November 2021. I started releasing short, open-format mixes on Soundcloud in April 2020 to have an outlet during the pandemic. They got some traction "Nexus" was a part of the second series of mixes I released from November 2021 to August of 2022. It's hard for me to listen back to a lot of them. I can hear the mistakes. I thought I knew way more than I did. "Nexus" doesn't make me feel that way, though. Sometimes it's good not to know what you're doing. You're able to make something you couldn't if you were following all the rules.

varsity theatre 180821 (pi'erre set)

August 2021. I opened for Pi'erre Bourne's concert at Varsity Theatre in Minneapolis. This was one of the first real concerts after COVID limitations went away. With all the practice of releasing mixes during the quarantine, I was ready. I didn't record during the actual set. This upload is from a practice session I did before the performance. But the tracklist was the same. There are a few mistakes in here, though, due to it being a practice session. This set opened my eyes to how good it can feel to play out. I wanted to do more hip-hop shows like this one, but those opportunities didn't come up. Looking back, I'm happy I found a home in techno instead. Hip-hop club promoters suck.
